Farm to Glass
We don't buy grain and call it ours. We grow it, mill it, distill it, and age it on the same land. The work is harder. The whiskey is better. That's the only difference that matters.
Whiskey that goes from field to bottle
Long before whiskey became big business and "independent bottlers" would blend multiple distillers whiskeys and varied mashbills together, whiskey used to stand on it's own. Great whiskeys are grown, distilled, aged and bottled on the same land to capture its sense of place, its terroir. This is how exceptional whiskey is made, from the land, one mashbill, one cask at a time.
Vermont's only Estate Whisky Alliance member
We are proud to be Vermont's first and only Estate Whiskey Alliance member. As a member we are under very strict guidelines. All production, including milling, cooking, fermentation, distillation, barreling, aging and bottling occur on our estate farm distillery. Our entire mashbill is grown on estate-owned or controlled land.
Terroir that tastes like Vermont
Farm grown on the ancient seabed soils of the Champlain Valley captures the true terroir of our bourbon whiskey. This next section is from the estate whiskey alliance so please edit with chat or yourself and also please edit the other comments I made in other sections of the site. Every element, including the grain, the soil, the water, the region and the climate-shapes the final character of the whiskey with the unmistakable imprint of its origin. The result is a uniquely distinctive whiskey that couldn't be made any where else by anyone else.

our story
Our farm has a rich history and deep pride. In 1914 Fred Boyden drove his cattle up the road to this Cambridge, Vermont farm. Soon, Winfred and Stearns Boyden ran it with their wives Evelyn and Ila, modernizing from horse-drawn grain harvesting to tractors and combines, installing Vermont’s first refrigerated milking systems, and starting a maple sugarbush. After Winfred and Stearns died within a year, young Fred (my father) took over in his 20s. He loved farming—growing grains and working with us kids; I loved tying burlap grain bags and dropping them from the trap door. Today we honor that heritage by making whiskey from the grain grown on our magical farm.
